Our Iranian cameraman was very puzzled by this decision. We have had no reasonable answer as to why this action was taken, apart from the Dean’s explanation that “certain people have objected “. Is this really the Church in welcoming mode we wonder. A follow up letter from Bishop Kenny stated that a new Video Policy would be put in place by the new Archbishop, we eagerly await his reply. As to why we filmed at St Chads, we wanted to show our material to house bound and institutionalised Catholics, to remind them of times when they could take part in worship. Also for those of other Faiths who want to see how Catholics worship. But it seems that the Cathedral does not want to share its activities for reasons best known to itself.
